A new build of Windows 10 was released on April 3, 2018, to be avail able to users after free updates to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on the same day. The new functionality, which is available to Windows Insiders in the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build 15200 (build number: 16191), includes compatibility for Windows Ink Workspace on Windows 10. Windows Ink Workspace, like a conventional pen, allows users to input handwriting or paint strokes on to a digital canvas. But, in addition to the standard ink strokes drawn in a pen or brush, users can draw with their finger. The newer "Windows Ink on Windows" feature allows users to leverage new features on their Windows 10 devices, such as responding to the eraser end of a pencil.
After the build was released, Microsoft has released a guideline on how to get started with Windows Ink. The Windows Ink Workspace is enabled by default on all Windows 10 devices with the Windows Ink features installed.
